Earthquakes And Miracle Babies

http://groundreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_20150426_055612.jpg

I'm sure we have all heard the terrible news of the earthquake in Nepal, and the terrible destruction and death that followed. I believe it's hard for those of us who have never lived through any type of terror or disaster to even begin to know what they are going through.
Then for someone there to find out that their children are dead on top of the misery of losing everything, must be unspeakable, and make it hard for anyone to find life bearable. One woman was given a gift of a miracle, when her baby boy and young daughter were found alive in her collapsed apartment building.

I've seen pictures of the building, and I have no idea how they survived, since everything was dust and rubble. It's a miracle, and I love miracles.

Something similar happened during the 1985 earthquake when four newborn babies survived for seven days without food and water, and no one knows how such a miracle happened. As the world watched such sadness beyond what anyone could bear--those babies brought such hope and happiness into the lives of everyone. I could not find the video, but I looked up a news story from thirty years ago, and the link is below along with the video of the Nepal miracle baby.

To make matters even harder is the fact that Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world, and
I know any donations will be welcomed. Here is a link from an article for Time Magazine showing the ways to donate: http://time.com/3836242/nepal-earthquake-donations-disaster-relief/

We should always be thankful for everyone  in our lives and never take them for granted.

Hobby Lobby: Women's Birth Control Misconceptions

There is only one important feat I want from our news media, and that is the TRUTH. I'm not sure if the media even knows what the truth is, and to be frank, I might be blaming those hard working headliners for something they're not responsible for. Maybe, I'm not the one telling the truth, but finding a scapegoat that is so easily blamable for spreading lies about Hobby Lobby.

Recently, I have read so many misconceptions regarding Hobby Lobby trying to control female employee's bodies by never approving any form of birth control. This isn't the truth, and the truth is what we should all be concerned about. Believing aspects of information only because they fit in with our world view on our likes and dislikes regarding politics and individual rights brings us back to the dark ages, and burning witches is not far behind. The truth is I don't see anyone burned at the stake any time soon, but when we let our own extreme prejudices get in the way of truth--aren't we living in a time of myth and hatred?

Hobby Lobby does not believe in abortion, and they aren't alone. I recently saw a CNN poll that showed almost 60% of the population are in agreement with this company. I'm not going into detail whether I think it's right or wrong to have an abortion, even though I feel very strongly about the issue--I just want the truth to be told.

I don't shop at Hobby Lobby and I'm not trying to be a spokesperson for them, but the truth is Hobby Lobby believes in Birth Control.  The company's insurance plan offers over 15 different ways to prevent conception, including condoms, spermicide, birth control pills and the list goes on. There are only a few that they do not believe in, and each one has to do with abortion, including abortion and the morning after pill.

We've all been guilty of spreading untruths because we want the world to fit in with our perception of what the perfect ideal society would be like, but I think what the world needs now is Love Sweet Love. Sorry, I think the world needs to stop judging others and we should really look inside of ourselves, and find out whether we want to spread our own agenda or the wonderful world of truth.

Birds

There is a documentary on Netflix called the Life Of Birds, and I watched it for the first time five years ago, and still watch it. Quite often I watch it on my Kindle as I'm falling asleep.

Before seeing this series of ten episodes, I really didn't have any love or knowledge of birds. I always pictured them just flying around, building nests and feeding their babies whose mouths are always stretched with hunger. David Attenbourough hosts the series, and opened my eyes to an extraordinary world of birds and their amazing journeys through love and survival instincts.

My favorite bird is the Waved Albatross, and even though their wing spans are not the longest of all the Albatrosses, they soar through the air for hours, riding the wind currents, without ever having to flap their wings. They look like beautiful aerial dancers floating without effort through the air.
